By Marc Pollard | September 24, 2010
Advantive, Advantive Federal, and Tangerine Power have acquired a new office on the east side of Fremont in the Doc Freeman Marina building right on Lake Union. The building was recently re-built, and houses about 50 offices. On top of the office building is a Tug Boat converted into an office. Doc Freeman also owns the marina. “Fremont is an ideal location for high-tech talent due to the free parking, lots of places for high-octane coffee and eats”, commented Marc Pollard, Senior Partner at Advantive. Advantive’s core compentancy is energy IT consulting, and leasing an office that is energy efficient, and allows employees to easily get to work via the bus, walk or bike is a key factor when deciding where to make Advantive’s home base.Fremont is now becoming the high-tech center of Seattle with companies like Google, Getty Images, and Adobe down the street. The office is right on the Burke Gilman trail, which extends from Lake Sammamish all the way to Ballard. It is a very funky part of Seattle, and everything is walking distance, including the PCC market. “The high-tech work force is very comfortable with the area, and the mood and energy level in Fremont is exactly what we were looking for to grow Advantive’s Energy Intelligence business”, added Pollard. The Fremont Boat Company owns the building, which has been around since the early 1900s. There is a a lot of history behind the building, which still docks three working tug boats. The Advantive offices is located at 999 Northlake Way in Seattle. Advantive also has a presence in Washington DC and Portland Oregon.
